For the second straight year, the National Statistics Office (NSO) has recently been presented Parangal sa Pakikiisa by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The award is given to NSO in honor and deep appreciation of its unselfish, sustained and valuable services, contributions and assistance to the BIR.

Commissioner Beethoven Rualo presented the award during the 94th Anniversary Celebration of the BIR held on 31 July 1998 at its main office in Quezon City. Mr. Pedro Viernesto, NSO Regional Administrator for the National Capital Region, received the award in behalf of Administrator Tomas Africa.
