  • Month-on-Month

              The month-on-month growth rate of the retail prices of selected construction materials in NCR picked up to 7.3 percent in June from 3.1 percent in May. Higher monthly growth rates were correspondingly posted in the prices of carpentry materials and painting materials and related compounds at 1.4 percent and 1.2 percent in June from 0.4 percent in May and miscellaneous construction materials, 28.1 percent from 12.3 percent. On the other hand, slower monthly price gains were respectively observed in electrical materials and tinsmithry materials at 0.9 percent and 3.5 percent from their corresponding previous month's rates of 1.1 percent and 4.5 percent. Price increments in masonry materials and plumbing materials remained at 0.4 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively.

              Upward price adjustments were noticed in lumber, plywood, nails, insulated wires and wiring devices, cement, paints and related compounds, corrugated GI sheets and steel bars.
     

  • Year-on-Year

              The annual growth rate of the retail prices of selected construction materials in NCR increased to 17.8 percent in June from 10.1 percent in May as all the commodity groups registered higher annual growth rates: carpentry materials, 4.5 percent in June from 3.1 percent in May; electrical materials, 9.5 percent from 8.1 percent; masonry materials, 5.8 percent from 5.7 percent; painting materials and related compounds, 5.7 percent from 4.8 percent; plumbing materials, 3.4 percent from 2.6 percent; tinsmithry materials, 9.2 percent from 5.2 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials, 74.4 percent from 37.6 percent.
