SEASONALLY ADJUSTED CONSUMER PRICE INDEX Food, Beverages and Tobacco (FBT) and Non-FBT Items (NCR and AONCR – July 2003)
The seasonally adjusted CPI of FBT items in NCR went down to 152.8 in July from 155.4 in June while that in AONCR its level increased to 159.6 from 159.3. Slight weather disturbances generally did not affect prices of FBT items in NCR relative to the expected trend. The same seasonal factor did not push up prices of FBT items in AONCR during the month. The month-on-month inflation of the seasonally adjusted CPI for FBT items in NCR declined to -1.7 percent from 2.1 percent while that in AONCR, its rate moved up but at a slower rate of 0.2 percent from 0.5 percent. The seasonally adjusted CPI of non-FBT items in NCR and AONCR correspondingly went up to 193.1 and 187.5 in July from their respective levels of 192.1 and 186.6 in June. Seasonal factors during the month pushed up prices of non-FBT items in the two areas. On a monthly basis, prices of seasonally adjusted non-FBT items in NCRslightly decelerated to 0.5 percent in July from 0.6 in June.
