The 2003 edition of The Philippines in Figures (PIF) is now off the press. The PIF comes out as a handy pocket-sized booklet ideal for researchers, writers, development planners and policy-makers as it showcases most reliable statistics consolidated and classified in 53 sections. It capsulated data from a range of topics like income and prices, domestic and foreign trade, business and industry, agriculture, forestry and fishery, energy, public finance, labor, and banking and insurance. It also presents the country's brief historical background, constitution and government. Aside from various statistics presented, it also features a list of the number of provinces, cities, municipalities and barangays in the Philippines. It also assures data dependability as it contains the most updated figures needed. Moreover, the figures are presented in three-year columns for easy data comparison. Aside from the printed version, PIF 2003 is also available in portable document file at NSO website, http://www.census.gov.ph/data/publications/PIF2003.pdf.
