The total population of Cagayan Valley Region (Region II)
as of Sep. 1, 1995 is

  The population of Region II grew at the rate of 1.51 percent annually in the first half of the nineties. This is 0.49 percentage point lower than the annual geometric census growth rate during the eighties (2.01 percent)
Among the five provinces in Region II,
            Isabela registered the largest population at 1,160,721 persons,
while  Batanes is the smallest at 14,180 persons.
Quirino was the fastest growing province in the region with an annual
                  growth rate of 2.63 percent, while
Batanes experienced a decline in population at the rate of
                  1.08 percent annually.
