The total population of Central Visayas (Region VII)
as of September 1, 1995 is

  The population of Region VII grew at the rate of 1.65 percent annually in the first half of the nineties. This is 0.30 percentage point lower than the annual geometric census growth rate during the eighties (1.95 percent)
Among the four provinces in Region VII,
     Cebu registered the largest population at 2,921,145 persons, and
     Siquijor, the smallest at 73,756 persons.
Negros Oriental was the fastest growing provinces in the region
           with an annual growth rate of 1.94 percent,
while Siquijor experienced a decline in population at the rate
           of 0.04 percent annually.
