Regional PSQ Organization

An official PSQ Regional Steering Committee shall be formed in each of the sixteen regions in which regional elimination will be conducted. The Regional Steering Committee shall be co-chaired by the Philippine Statistical Association and the National Statistics Office. Representatives from CHED, NEDA, DOLE and other government agencies in the region may be invited to be members of the PSQ Regional Steering Committee.

The PSQ Regional Steering Committee shall create subcommittees, as may be needed, and shall appoint four of the five-member Board of Judges for the Regional Eliminations. The fifth member of the Board of Judges shall be designated by the PSQ National Steering Committee.

Supplementary selection procedures for identifying regional contests may be prescribed by the PSQ Regional Steering Committee. For example, provincial-level elimination may be prescribed. If provincial elimination will be conducted, the provincial winner(s) shall be deemed as the official contestant(s) to the regional final.

Schedule of Regional Eliminations

The 2000 PSQ regional eliminations will be held in the regional centers on November 21 or on November 22, 2000.

The Regional Eliminations are designed to determine the 2000 PSQ Regional Champion for each of the 16 regions (including Caraga) nationwide. The Regional Champion will be the region's representative to the PSQ National Finals to be held on December 5, 2000 at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Manila.

The regional eliminations shall follow the same procedures as the national finals. There will be three sequential rounds - first round, second round and championship round.

Only the regional champion shall compete in the national finals.
