Census Planning and Operations Division
- Prepares technical plans and programs and designs instruments (e.g., questionnaires and manuals) for the undertaking of censuses of population, housing, agriculture and fisheries every ten years, and mid-decade census of population, and the listing of households to update the sampling frame for household surveys; and designs instruments for the censuses and the listing of households;
- Coordinates with NSO Field Offices on the conduct of censuses and listing of households, and monitors the progress of the same;
- Generates indicators from the results of the censuses of population housing, agriculture and fisheries;
- Prepares reports and publications based on the results of censuses of population housing, agriculture and fisheries;
- Coordinates with other organic unit in the Central Office regarding the conduct of trainings of trainers for the censuses of population, housing, agriculture and fisheries;
- Evaluates operational procedures used in censuses;
- Issues certification of population based on a population census as one of the basis for the allocation of funds to the Local Government Unit (LGU), for the reclassification of administrative or political units, and as one of the requirements for the creation of barangays, cities, municipalities and provinces; and congressional districts;
- Assists international and local data users on their data requests on censuses of population, housing, agriculture and fisheries; and
- Performs other functions as maybe assigned from time to time.
