Demographic and Social Statistics Division
- Prepares technical plans and programs, and designs instruments (e.g., questionnaires and manuals) for social and demographic and health surveys, including sample surveys on fertility and family planning, mortality, and migration, and regarding emerging issues;
- Coordinates with NSO Field Offices regarding the conduct of social, demographic and health surveys, and monitors the progress of these surveys;
- Generates indicators from the social, demographic, and health surveys conducted;
- Prepares reports and publications on the results of the surveys
- Coordinates with other NSO organic units regarding the conduct of social, demographic, and health surveys;
- Conducts in-depth studies/analyses using data from social, demographic, and health surveys, and from population censuses, covering topics on women of reproductive ages, youth, elderly population, persons with disability, population in need of special protection, indigenous people, Muslim population, violence against women and children (VAWC), time use, governance and human rights;
- Assists international and local data users on their data requests related to social, demographic, and health surveys; and
- Performs other functions as maybe assigned from time to time.
