Information Technology Systems and Research Division
- Prepares plans, programs and strategies for the development and implementation of information systems;
- Designs, develops and maintains information systems to support the generation and dissemination of official statistics and the implementation of processes for civil registration and general administration;
- Designs, develops and maintains statistical databases and related application systems to enable online access of data and to support the dissemination thrust of the office;
- Undertakes feasibility studies to support decisions on major ICT projects of NSO and as basis for financing and fund sourcing;
- Develops and recommends agency-wide ICT policies and standards;
- Evaluates and recommends new hardware, software, and other ICT tools for adoption at NSO;
- Conducts researches and studies and recommends strategies to improve the development and implementation of information systems;
- Assists in the conceptualization and development of NSO data products and services;
- Designs and develops ICT courseware for the NSO central and field offices;
- Prepares documentation for the development, implementation and archiving of information systems;
- Provides technical assistance to subject matter specialists and clients of NSO in defining requirements, preparing and evaluating ICT solutions;
- Prepares and develops the agency’s information systems strategic plan and ICT-related operational plans; and
- Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to time.
