Labor Force PopulationThe Labor Force Survey (LFS) aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market. Specifically, the survey is designed to provide statistics on levels and trends of employment, unemployment and underemployment for the country, as a whole, and for each of the administrative regions, including provinces and key cities.
Persons aged 15 years old and over
QC residents aged 15 years old and over expanded to 1.519 million in January
2003 from 1.429 million three years ago.
This reflects an increase of 90 thousand additions to the labor force
population.
Of
the 1.519 million persons 15 years old and over, there were those who joined the
labor force ... The
labor force participation rate, or the proportion of those in the labor force to
those aged 15
years old and over, slightly increased to 66.82 percent or an
estimate of 1015
thousand in January 2003 from 64.2 percent or 878 thousand in January 2000. Service Workers still remains to have the biggest share of employment in QCAmong the Industries, the service sector had the biggest share in the total employment in Quezon City with 81percent of the total workers, while the Industry Sector registered 19% or an estimate of 192000 persons employed.
