SUMMARY INFLATION REPORT
The countrys year-on-year headline inflation rate continued to decelerate at 11.2 percent in October from 11.8 percent in September brought about by the continued slowing down in the annual price increases of the heavily weighted food, beverages and tobacco (FBT) and services items. Inflation a year ago was 2.7 percent. Likewise, annual inflation rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) further slowed down to 8.0 percent in October from 8.2 percent in September as the annual rates were slower in FBT and services index. The same trend was observed in the annual inflation rate in Areas Outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) as it eased to 12.6 percent in October from 13.5 percent in September. This was due to the slower annual price increases in FBT, fuel, light and water (FLW ) and services items.
