The National Statistics Office (NSO) announces the release of the 2010 Philippine Yearbook (PY), a ready reference for students, policymakers, planners, in the academe and everyone wanting for time series statistics. Earlier made available in CD format, the 2010 PY is now also available in hardcover book format.
PY contains the latest development on the socioeconomic and political aspects of the sectors in the country. The data incorporated in this publication were gathered from government agencies and entities, and NSO as well. The facts and figures are presented in table formats with some analysis on the current events. The PY also touches on the history of the country, its geography, government, trade relations with other countries with added selected international statistics incorporated in the 24 chapters of the publication.
Featured in this issue is the result of the 2008 Survey of Information and Communication Technology (SICT). The need for ICT-related statistics is growing and as a response to this demand, NSO once again conducted a survey on ICT in order to collect and generate information on the availability, distribution and access/utilization of ICT in business and industry.
