Leyte's Three Cities Comprised One-Third of the Total Population of the Province (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Population increased by 132,068 persons

Leyte had a total population of 1,724,240 persons as of August 1, 2007, higher by 132,068 persons compared with the census count of 1,592,172 persons as of May 1, 2000. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.10 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

The household population of Leyte in 2007 was 1,717,519 persons, an increase of 8.1 percent from 1,588,591 persons in 2000. The number of households increased by 13.2 percent from 322,579 in 2000 to 365,128 in 2007. The average household size in 2007 was 4.7 persons, lower than the average household size of 4.9 persons in 2000.

Total population grew by 1.69 percent annually

The province of Cebu (excluding Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City) had a total population of 2,440,120 persons as of August 1, 2007, higher by 12.9 percent compared with the census count of 2,160,569 persons as of May 1, 2000. The increase in population count for the period 2000 to 2007 translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.69 percent.

Bohol Recorded a Population of 1.2 Million Persons (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

 

Population increased by 90,980 persons

The province of Bohol had a total population of 1,230,110 persons as of August 1, 2007, which is larger by 8.0 percent compared to the census count of 1,139,130 persons as of May 1, 2000. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.06 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.
