The province of Ilocos Sur had a total population of 633,138 persons as of August 1, 2007, an increase of 38,932 persons from 594,206 persons reported in 2000. This increase translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 0.88 percent during the period 2000 to 2007, or a decline of 0.97 percentage point from the PGR of 1.85 percent reported during the period 1995 to 2000.

Ilocos Norte Posted A Population Of More Than Half A Million (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Ilocos Norte had a total population of 547,284 persons as of August 1, 2007, which is larger by 6.4 percent compared to the census count of 514,241 persons as of May 1, 2000. This increase translated to an annual population growth rate of 0.86 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

Mountain Province posted a total population of 148,661 persons, as of August 1, 2007. This figure represents an increase of 8,030 persons over the total population of 140,631 persons in 2000. The annual population growth rate (PGR) recorded in the province for the period 2000 to 2007 was 0.77 percent, lower by 0.80 percentage point from the 1.57 percent annual PGR recorded during the period 1995 to 2000.

Kalinga's Population Growth Rate Down To 0.64 Percent (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Total population increased by 8,307 persons

Kalinga posted a total population of 182,326 persons based on the results of the 2007 Census of Population (POPCEN 2007). This was higher by 8,303 persons over the 2000 census figure of 174,023 persons. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 0.64 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, down from the PGR of 2.63 percent for the period 1995 to 2000.
