Population increased by 43,808 persons

Aklan had a total population of 495,122 persons as of August 1, 2007, which was larger by 9.7 percent compared to the census count of 451,314 persons as of May 1, 2000. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.29 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

Number of households increased by 60,084

The population of Davao City was 1,366,153 persons as of August 1, 2007, based on the 2007 Census of Population. This figure was higher by 219,037 persons over the population count of 1,147,116 persons in 2000. The population counts for the province from the 2000 and 2007 censuses translated to an average annual population growth rate of 2.44 percent for the same period.

The number of households in 2007 reached 300,141, which was 60,084 households more than the number of households reported in 2000. The average household size was 4.5 persons, slightly lower than the average household size of 4.8 in 2000.

Households increased by 13,651

Davao Oriental, one of the four provinces and one highly urbanized city comprising the Davao Region registered a total population of 486,104 persons as of August 1, 2007. This figure is higher by 39,913 persons over the Census 2000 count of 446,191 persons. The recent population count for the province translates to an average annual growth rate of 1.19 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, which is a slight decrease from 1.64 percent registered for the period 1995 to 2000. Correspondingly, the number of households reached 100,220, which is 13,651 households more than the Census 2000 figure. The POPCEN 2007 result also indicates an average household size of 4.8 persons, which is comparatively lower than the Census 2000 average household size of 5.2 persons.
