This figure was higher by 12,244 persons over the population count of 217,392 persons in 2000. The recent population counts for the province translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 0.76 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, lower than the 1.81 percent annual PGR registered for the period 1995 to 2000.

The total population of Rizal, as August 1, 2007, was 2,298,691 persons. This represents an increase of 591,473 persons over the total population of 1,707,218 persons in 2000. This increase translated to an annual population growth rate of 4.19 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, lower than the annual population growth rate of 5.79 percent during the period 1995 to 2000.

The total population of Lucena City as of August 1, 2007 was 236,390 persons, an increase of 40,315 persons over its total population of 196,075 persons in 2000. This 2007 figure translated to an annual population growth rate of 2.61 percent for the period 2000 to 2007. This was 0.49 percentage point higher than the 2.12 percent annual population growth rate recorded from 1995 to 2000.

Population Of Quezon Surpassed 1.5 Million Mark (Results from the 2007 Census Of Population)

As of August 1, 2007, the total population of Quezon (excluding Lucena City) was 1,646,510 persons, indicating an increase of 11.0 percent from its total population of 1,482,955 persons in 2000. This was 0.42 percentage point lower than the annual PGR of 1.87 percent for the period 1995 to 2000.
