2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) - Real Estate, Renting and Business Activities Sector for Establishments with Average Total Employment (ATE) of 20 and Over : Preliminary Results

Preliminary results of the 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry reported that the Philippines had a total of 1,516 establishments with average total employment (ATE) of 20 and over engaged in Real Estate, Renting and Business Activities.

Table 1 shows the preliminary summary statistics of the CPBI in the Financial Intermediation Sector for establishments with average total employment (ATE) of 20 and over in 2006.

Based on the preliminary results of the 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry, the Philippines had a total of 925 establishments with ATE of 20 and over engaged in Transport, Storage and Communications sector (Table 1). As shown in Figure 1, Supporting and auxiliary transport activities; activities of travel agencies garnered the highest number of establishments at 410 (44.3%). The Land transport; transport via pipelines ranked second with 28.2 percent and Postal and telecommunications services, third with 17.1 percent. Air transport, on the other hand, recorded the lowest number of establishments or one percent.

Based on the preliminary results of the 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry conducted nationwide, with 2006 as the reference year, the Philippines had a total of 2,750 establishments with average total employment (ATE) of 20 and over engaged in hotels and restaurants. As shown in Figure 1, Restaurants, bars, canteen and other drinking and eating places garnered the highest number of establishments at 2,258 (82.1%). Hotels, camping sites and other provisions of short-stay accommodation recorded the remaining number of establishments with only 492

2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) - Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles, Motorcycles and Personal and Household Goods for Establishments with Average Total Employment (ATE) of 20 and Over

Based on the preliminary results of the 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry, the Philippines had a total of 4,537 establishments with ATE of 20 and over engaged in Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles, Motorcycles and Personal and Household Goods. As shown in Figure 1, Retail trade, garnered the highest number or more than half (55.0%) of the total number. The Wholesale and commission trade ranked second with 1,194 (26.3 %). Sale, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail sale of automotive fuel, on the other hand, recorded the lowest number of establishments with only 849.
