Merchandise Export Performance : August 1998

Merchandise exports for the first eight months of 1998 grew by 18.9 percent to $19.059 billion from $16.025 billion a year earlier.
Total receipts for August 1998 increased by 17.5 percent to $2.652 billion from $2.258 billion last year.

Merchandise Export Performance : April 1997

Revenue earned from the merchandise exports posted a 39.6 percent upswing as April 1997 receipts reached $2.082 billion, surpassing $1.492 billion in 1996 by $590.50 million. Compared to the previous month, exports gained by 4.1 percent from $2.001 billion.

Value of exports from January to April grew by 22.8 percent to $7.588 billion which was an increase of $1.411 billion from $6.177 billion a year earlier.

Merchandise Export Performance : September 1998

Total export receipts for the first three quarters of the year grew by 19.0 percent to $21.845 billion from $18.363 billion a year earlier.

For the month of September alone, total receipts increased by 19.2 percent to $2.786 billion from $2.337 billion last year.

Merchandise Export Performance : March 1997

Merchandise exports reached $1.996 billion in March, posting a 19.5 percent growth rate or an increase of $326 million over $1.671 billion last year.

For the first quarter of 1997, total receipts rose by 17.4 percent to $5.501 billion from $4.685 billion recorded a year earlier. The increase translates to an additional dollar inflow of $816.0 million.

Merchandise Export Performance : October 1998

Total year-to-date merchandise export receipts grew by 17.9 percent to $24.387 billion from $20.689 billion a year earlier.

Total dollar inflow for October 1998 increased by 9.3 percent to $2.542 billion from $2.326 billion last year.
