Merchandise Export Performance : October 2009

Export earnings in October 2009 recorded a single-digit negative growth of 8.3 percent from $3.990 billion in October 2008 to $3.660 billion after posting double-digit decreases for nine consecutive months starting January 2009. Compared to previous months level, however, it slightly increased by 0.7 percent from $3.636 billion in September 2009. Aggregate merchandise exports from January to October 2009, on the other hand, dropped by 27.0 percent from $42.890 billion registered during the same ten-month period in 2008 to $31.300 billion.

Merchandise Export Performance : November 2009

Export earnings in November 2009 recorded its first month increase of 5.1 percent after posting ten months consecutive decline in 2009 to $3.693 billion from $3.513 billion in November 2008. Month-on-month, it slightly grew by 0.6 percent from $3.670 billion in October 2009. Aggregate merchandise exports from January to November 2009, on the other hand, dropped by 24.6 percent from $46.403 billion to $35.004 billion registered during the same eleven-month period in 2008.

Merchandise Export Performance : December 2009

Export earnings in December 2009 amounted to $3.304 billion, a double-digit growth of 23.6 percent was registered compared from its year ago level of $2.675 billion. However, on a monthly basis, it declined by 11.0 percent from $3.712 billion in November 2009. Aggregate merchandise exports from January to December 2009, on the other hand, dropped by 21.9 percent from $49.078 billion to $38.327 billion registered during the same twelve-month period in 2008.

Merchandise Export Performance : March 2012

Export earnings in March 2012 which amounted to $4.302 billion went down by 1.2 percent from $4.356 billion recorded in March of 2011. Similarly, on a monthly basis, it decreased by 2.9 percent from $4.430 billion posted in February 2012. Aggregate merchandise exports for the first quarter of 2012, showed an increase of 4.6 percent to $12.856 billion from $12.286 billion posted during the same quarter in 2011.

Merchandise Export Performance : March 2009

Export earnings in March 2009 dropped by 30.9 percent to $2.904 billion from $4.200 billion registered in March 2008. Compared with the previous month�s level, it climbed to 15.9 percent from $2.506 billion after exhibiting five consecutive months of negative growth since October 2008. Meanwhile, aggregate merchandise exports from January to March 2009 declined by 36.8 percent to 7.921 billion from 12.543 billion reported a year earlier during the same three-month period.
