Export earnings in February 2009 dropped by 39.1 percent to $2.504 billion from $4.112 billion in February 2008. Compared with the previous month's level, it decreased slightly by 0.3 percent from $2.511 billion. Similarly, receipts from merchandise exports from January to February 2009 declined by 39.9 percent to 5.015 billion from 8.343 billion reported a year earlier during the two-month period.

Export earnings in February 2012 amounted to $4.431 billion, a 14.6 percent increment from $3.865 billion recorded in February of 2011. Similarly, on a monthly basis, it increased by 7.4 percent from $4.123 billion posted in January 2012. Aggregate merchandise exports for the first two months of 2012, showed an increase of 8.8 percent to $8.554 billion from $7.865 billion posted during the same two-month period in 2011.

Total earnings for merchandise export in September 2010 amounted to $5.314 billion, higher by 46.1 percent from it's year ago level of $3.638 billion. Compared to previous month level, it recorded an increase of 11.7 percent from $4.759 billion posted in August 2010. Meanwhile, aggregate merchandise exports for the period January to September 2010 increased by 38.5 percent to $38.298 billion from $27.649 billion registered during the same nine - month period in 2009.
