Merchandise Export Performance : January 1998

Revenue from merchandise exports for January 1998 increased by 24.8 percent to $2.112 billion from $1.692 billion a year ago. Compared to $2.230 billion the previous month, however, export receipts went down by 5.3 percent.

Merchandise Export Performance : December 1997

Merchandise exports registered aggregate receipts of $25.228 billion in 1997 moving up by 22.8 percent from $20.543 billion in 1996. The growth in exports was primed by the performance of electronics and components as well as input/output/peripheral units whose combined value increased by 258.8 percent to $1,682.72 million from $469 million in 1996.

The value of merchandise exports for December 1997 gained 18.4 percent to $2.230 billion from $1.883 billion in 1996. It declined by 3.4 percent from $2.308 billion in November 1997.

Merchandise Export Performance : November 1997

Earnings from the exports of goods for November amounted to $2.306 billion, up by 24.7 percent from $1.850 billion last year and dropped by 0.9 percent from the October 1997 value of $2.326 billion.

Cumulative receipts for the first eleven months of 1997 reached $22.995 billion increasing by 23.2 percent from $18.659 billion in 1996.

Merchandise Export Performance : October 1997

Value of exports for the first ten months of 1997 grew by 23.1 percent to $20.687 billion, an increase of $3.878 billion from $16.809 billion recorded the previous year.

Dollar receipts from merchandise exports for October alone, grew by 23.4 percent to $2.324 billion from $1.884 billion last year. Monthly growth rate dropped by 0.6 percent from $2.337 billion.

Merchandise Export Performance : September 1997

Total dollar earnings from merchandise exports moved up to $18.362 billion from January to September 1997, increasing by 23.0 percent from $14.926 billion in January to September 1996.

Export receipts for September 1997 alone, rose by 24.6 percent to $2.337 billion from $1.876 billion during the same month in 1996. Compared to August, a 3.5 percent increase valued at $2.258 billion was likewise recorded.
