Merchandise Export Performance : July 2010

Export earnings in July 2010 amounted to $4.503 billion, registering a double-digit growth of 35.9 percent from it's year ago level of $3.313 billion. However, a decrease of 1.2 percent from its previous month level was recorded from $4.555 billion in June 2010. Meanwhile, aggregate merchandise exports for the period January to July 2010 increased by 37.4 percent to $28.223 billion from $20.538 billion posted during the same seven- month period in 2009.

External Trade Performance : June 2010

Total external trade in goods for January to June 2010 reached $49.906 billion, a 32.7 percent increment from $37.604 billion registered during the same period in 2009. Total imports posted a 28.5 percent annual increase to $26.185 billion from $20.379 billion. Similarly, receipts from merchandise exports posted an increase of 37.7 percent to $23.721 billion in January to June of 2010 from $17.225 billion during the same period in 2009. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines posted a deficit of $2.464 billion during the 6-month period in 2010, a value lower than the $3.155 billion deficit in the same 6-month period last year.

Merchandise Export Performance : June 2010

Export earnings in June 2010 amounted to $4.545 billion, registering a double-digit growth of 33.4 percent from it�s year ago level of $3.407 billion. Compared to previous month level it also went up by 7.2 percent from $4.241 billion in May 2010. Aggregate merchandise exports from January to June 2010 also showed an increase of 37.7 percent to $23.711 billion from $17.225 billion posted during the same 6-month period in 2009.

External Trade Performance : May 2010

Total external trade in goods for January to May 2010 reached $41.185 billion, a 36.9 percent increment from $30.090 billion registered during the same period in 2009. Total imports posted a 35.3 percent annual increase to $22.019 billion from $16.272 billion. Similarly, receipts from merchandise exports posted an increase of 38.7 percent to $19.166 billion in January to May of 2010 from $13.818 billion during the same period in 2009. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines posted a deficit of $2.854 billion during the 5-month period in 2010, a value higher than the $2.455 billion deficit in the same 5-month period last year.
