Merchandise Export Performance : May 2010

Export earnings in May 2010 amounted to $4.239 billion, registering a double-digit growth of 37.3 percent from it's year ago level of $3.088 billion. Compared to previous month level it went up by 17.9 percent from $3.595 billion in March 2010. Aggregate merchandise exports from January to May 2010 also showed an increase of 38.7 percent to $19.164 billion from $13.818 billion posted during the same period in 2009.

External Trade Performance : April 2010

Total external trade in goods for January to April 2010 reached $32.100 billion, a 37.3 percent increment from $23.386 billion registered during the same period in 2009. Total imports posted a 35.7 percent annual increase to $17.175 billion from $12.656 billion. Similarly, receipts from merchandise exports posted an increase of 39.1 percent to $14.925 billion in January to April of 2010 from $10.730 billion during the same period in 2009. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines posted a deficit of $2.250 billion during the 4-month period in 2010, a value higher than the $1.926 billion deficit in the same 4-month period last year.

Merchandise Export Performance : April 2010

Export earnings in April 2010 amounted to $3.573 billion, registering a double-digit growth of 27.4 percent from it�s year ago level of $2.804 billion. Compare to previous month level it went down by 14.5 percent from $4.181 billion in March 2010. Aggregate merchandise exports for the first four months of 2010 also showed an increase of 38.9 percent to $14.903 billion from $10.730 billion posted during the same period in 2009.

External Trade Performance : March 2010

Total external trade in goods for the first quarter of 2010 (January to March) reached $24.065 billion, a 37.3 percent increment from $17.525 billion registered during the same period in 2009. Total imports posted a 32.7 percent annual increase to $12.734 billion from $9.599 billion. Similarly, receipts from merchandise exports were up by 42.9 percent to $11.330 billion in January to March of 2010 from $7.926 billion during the same period in 2009. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines posted a deficit of $1.404 billion during the 3-month period in 2010, a value less than the $1.673 billion deficit in the same 3-month period last year.

External Trade Performance : December 2011

Total external trade in goods for January to December 2011 reached $108.181 billion, representing a 1.6 percent increment from $106.430 billion registered during the same period a year earlier. Similarly, total imports grew by 9.5 percent to $60.139 billion compared to $54.933 billion posted during the same period in 2010. Aggregate exports, on the other hand, fell by 6.7 percent from $51.498 billion in January to December of previous year to $48.042 billion. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines posted a deficit of $12.097 billion, a value higher than the $3.435 billion deficit recorded during the same period in 2010.
