Total receipts from merchandise export from January to August 2000 grew by 11.4 percent to $24.365 billion from $21.865 billion recorded during the same period last year.

For the month of August, receipts rose to 9.9 percent to $3.529 billion compared to $3.212 billion a year ago.

Total receipts for the first semester of the year posted an 11.5 percent increase to $17.616 billion from $15.802 billion in 1999.

For the month of June, total receipts sparked by electronics and components rose by 19.4 percent to $3.410 billion from $2.857 billion last year. This is the highest growth so far in 2000 and since October 1999.

Total receipts for January to April 2000 grew by 10.6 percent to $11.275 billion from $10.198 billion a year earlier.

For the month of April alone, total receipts increased by 13.7 percent to $2.668 billion from $2.346 billion last year.
