The month-on-month growth rate of the General Retail Price Index (GRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) dropped to -0.2 percent in August from 0.7 percent in July. Declines were registered in the price indexes of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials at -2.4 percent from 8.5 percent; chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats -0.2 percent from 0.2 percent and manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials at -0.1 percent from 0.7 percent. In addition, price hike in the machinery and transport equipment index slowed down to 0.1 percent from 0.2 percent while the food index recorded a zero growth. The rest of the commodity groups posted higher positive monthly rates.

The month-on-month growth rate of the General Retail Price Index (GRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) moved up to 2.9 percent in June from 2.4 percent in May. The monthly price increments in crude materials, inedible except fuels were higher at 0.5 percent in June from 0.3 percent in May; mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials, 11.4 percent from 6.5 percent; manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials, 4.8 percent from 2.1 percent; and miscellaneous manufactured articles, 0.4 percent from zero growth. Add-ons in the prices of machinery and transport equipment remained at 0.2 percent while the rest of the commodity groups posted slower monthly growth rates.

The month-on-month growth rate of the General Retail Price Index (GRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) went up by 0.6 percentage point to 2.0 percent in April from 1.4 percent in March. Higher monthly price increments were registered in the food index at 2.2 percent from 1.4 percent; mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials index at 4.6 percent from 2.0 percent; chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats index, 0.6 percent from 0.4 percent; and machinery and transport equipment index, 0.5 percent from -0.3 percent. Price gain in crude materials, inedible except fuels index remained at 0.6 percent while no price movement was seen in miscellaneous manufactured articles index. The rest of the commodity groups recorded slower monthly positive growth rates.
