The country's annual per capita poverty threshold (also called as poverty line) is P13,823, an increase of 22.1 percent over the P11,319 estimate in 1997.
All regional estimates on the annual per capita poverty threshold increased from 10.9 percent to as high as 26.9 percent.

Change in Spending Pattern Among Filipino Families Seen in 2006 (Preliminary Results from the 2006 Family Income and Expenditure Survey)

The total annual family income in 2006 was estimated at P 2.99 trillion indicating an increase of 22.7 percent over the 2003 estimate of P2.44 trillion. The total family expenditure was approximately P2.56 trillion, an increase of 25.7 percent over the 2003 estimate of P2.04 trillion (Table 1).

Total family income in 2003 was estimated at P2.4 trillion, increasing by 8.9 percent over the P2.2 trillion in 2000.Total family expenditure reached P2.0 trillion, which was higher by 11.9 percent over the P1.8 trillion in 2000.
