Philippine Labor Force Survey July 2005 (Preliminary Results)

Occupation-wise, farmers, forestry workers and fishermen registered the largest increase in employment level at 362 thousand. Their share to the total employed slightly increased by 0.6 percentage point, from 18.7 percent in July 2004 to 19.3 percent in July 2005. Laborers and unskilled workers recorded the next largest increase at 299 thousand from 10.1 million to 10.4 million.

The January 2011 LFS placed the size of the labor force at approximately 39.2 million persons out of the estimated 61.5 million population 15 years old and over, resulting in the labor force participation rate (LFPR) of 63.7 percent. Among the regions, MIMAROPA registered the highest labor force participation rate at 70.0 percent while the lowest was posted in ARMM at 55.7 percent.
