During the period January 2001 to October 2004, the percentage of wage and salary workers to the total employed persons aged 15 years old and over was between 48-53 percent. The highest percentage was recorded at 53.2 percent in July 2003 where 16.2 million out of the 30.5 million workers received salaries and wages. On the other hand, the lowest was observed during the first and second quarter of 2003 at 48.1 percent.
