  Volume of production and net sales decreased by 2.4 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively in January 2001 according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). Double-digit decreases in the volume of production were observed in food manufacturing, electrical machinery and wearing apparel.

  Value of production of the manufacturing industry in March 2001 moved up by 8.1 percent compared to year ago figures according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI).

• Production posts single-digit year-on-year increase

Production output of the manufacturing industry in May 2001 moved up by 8.8 percent in value and 2.0 percent in volume compared to year ago figures according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). The increases in production value and volume were, however, the lowest recorded for the last 12 months.
