· The year-on-year headline inflation rate at the national level further jumped to 9.6 percent in May from 8.3 percent in April, the highest inflation since January 1999 (10.5%). This was primarily triggered by the continuing higher annual price increases in the heavily-weighted food, beverages and tobacco (FBT) index. The rest of the commodity groups also posted higher inflation rates during the month. Inflation a year ago was 2.4 percent.

Year-on-year headline inflation rate in the Philippines was recorded at 7.0 percent in October, the same rate registered in September. Inflation a year ago was 7.7 percent.

Excluding selected food and energy items, core inflation slowed down by 0.2 percentage point to 6.3 percent in October from 6.5 percent in September

The year-on-year headline inflation rate at the national level further picked up to 12.2 percent in July from 11.4 percent in June. This was the highest rate since December 1991 (13.2%). Higher annual inflation rates were registered in all the commodity groups except in the fuel, light and water (FLW) index. Inflation a year ago was 2.6 percent.
